1) Abyss, a non factor in the match. He has all the power moves but none of the finesse needed for this particular match. He may be Terry's favorite but the TNA fans WILL NOT buy him as their champ and management knows this. He is a GREAT worker and will sell anybody by sacrificing his body, but the wrestling fan today wants someone they can relate to, like an AS*Hole...
2) Mr. Anderson, He is on a roll. The Company has just started his "Tweener" faze and is looking for him to put butts in seats and help sell PPV. He has the brute strength to carry a heavy match AND the speed and dexterity to win an X Division match. He is an AWESOME worker who can sell on the mic and make other people (Douglas Williams, Rob Terry, Eric Young etc.) look GREAT. What is amazing about him is his ability to work with his opponent to sell, sell, sell...AKA Slammiversary and Jeff Hardy.
3) Jeff Hardy?!?!?!?...He started in his back yard and reached the top of the industry. Then he fell to the bottom and came all the way back to the top, only to walk away...I'll leave that alone for now. He is one of the FINEST workers to come around in years. He can sell anybody from the Great Kali to that jabbroni Zak Ryder. The question still remains, why TNA? He has all of the mic skills and all of the physical tools to stand out wherever he goes. He can slug it out with the heavyweights and still pull a Shining Wizard with guys like RVD.
4)RVD, The Whole F***ING Show!! He is the perfect wrestler. He has all of the moves, from the heavy hands of a bruiser to the heavy feet of an X Div. star. He can sell on the mic and in the ring. He has walked the road from top to bottom and lived to tell the tale. One of the FINEST workers in the last 20 years to still be here and still able to laugh about it.
My conclusion... Let me start by saying right off that I have nothing but respect for Abyss and his skills and talent. But this is NOT the type of match he needs to be in. He is a bruiser and this is NOT a bruiser match. If you want someone with bruiser skills but who can still hang with the quickness of the others then how about....
Robert Roode. This is a guy who has consistently put on some of the GREATEST matches that TNA has ever seen. He has the work ethic and ring science of the others in this match and the "Old School" sell of guys like Ric Flair, Magnum T.A., Buddy Rogers and a young Sting.
So...What is the ending to this saga...Lets analyze this
RVD. With Tommy Dreamer arriving the ECW faction is sure to follow. That alone will take all of RVD's time away from defending his belt. So, thanks for the show Rob. The belt will still be here in 8 months when you put it back on...
Jeff Hardy. He WOULD be a sure bet to win this match BUT with his court case hanging over his head I don't think TNA wants to make that kind of commitment to him right now. Get your personal life in order Jeff then come talk to us about a Title.
Mr. Anderson. TNA has spent the last few weeks building his "Tweener" image. They used Jeff ( a favorite Face) to help him get over. They had the two of them beat what is arguably best tag team in TNA right now, Beer Money. He gets more pop then 99% of the backstage. He carries the weight of having come from down North and TNA is using that to their full advantage. Realistically he could be the face of this company for a VERY long time. ( No disrespect intended AJ.)
So, who wins....
Based on the above, Mr. Anderson!!!....
Wait for it....
ANDERSON!!!
Critiques are always welcome...
